Inspelningen genomfördes vid Barwon Heads, Victoria och St Leonards, Victoria, båda belägna på Bellarine Peninsula. Ett antal gator i St Leonards Sea Change Estate har sedan döpts för att hedra några av seriens karaktärer. Många scener filmades också i Williamstown, inklusive exteriören av Williamstown Life Saving Club, som blev domstolshuset i Pearl Bay.
I rollen som Bob Jelly spelar John Howard en lokal karaktär som blir viktig för Lauras anpassning till livet vid havet. Kerry Armstrong framträder som Heather Jelly, medan Kate Lister och Kevin Harrington kompletterar ensemblen. Serien utspelas i den fiktiva kustsamhället Pearl Bay, en miljö som skapades genom inspelningar på flera verkliga platser på Bellarine Peninsula i Victoria, framför allt Barwon Heads och St Leonards. Många scener filmades också i Williamstown, där bland annat Williamstown Life Saving Club användes som exteriör för Pearl Bays tingshus.
SeaChange sändes mellan 1998 och 2000 och omfattade totalt 39 episoder. Serien blev populär i Australien och skildrar både humoristiska och allvarliga moment i huvudkaraktärens försök att bygga ett nytt liv långt från storstaden. Serien är tillgänglig på Netflix.
