Ty Rux röstades av Andrew Francis och utgör huvudkaraktären i serien. Hans lilla kamrat Revvit, tolkat av Richard Ian Cox, är en mindre konstruktionsmaskin som blir hans närmaste följeslagare. Runt dem samlas ett större team bestående av Skya, röstad av Ashleigh Ball, Dozer, som får sin röst från Brian Drummond, och Ton-Ton, som röstades av Matt Hill. Tillsammans utgör de en grupp som måste konfrontera den onda D-Structs, som fungerar som seriens huvudantagonist.
Varje avsnitt varar cirka 24 minuter och presenterar nya utmaningar där teamet använder sina unika förmågor för att lösa problem och övervinna hinder. Serien är utformad för att tilltala yngre tittare genom en blandning av humor, actionsekvenser och vänskap mellan karaktärerna. Miljön är byggd kring ett futuristiskt tema där dinosaurier och moderna konstruktionsmaskiner existerar sida vid sida, vilket skapar en unik visuell identitet.
